Here's Hollywood's lesson in perception: people were semi-joking that the folks associated with the forthcoming Mel Gibson movie on Jesus were being cursed because two of them had been struck by lightning. Now it's being considered "a miracle" and blessing because two people associated with the movie were struck by lightning, but lived. That describes much. Sure, you were struck by lightning, but struck by lightning and lived. Blessing and curse. You get it. Right? *makes puppet gestures*
I hope I don't end up losing my job, since I told one of the customers it was stupid to be willing to give up freedom for safety. He had used the expression "well, as long as they make it harder for terrorists to blow up things, I'm fine with it." That applies to certain things, sure, but using it (or many things) as a "rule" is asking for trouble with a capital W. I told him this. He didn't seem to like it (although we've had pleasant interactions up til this). Great - I interact with the only Republican in Ithaca. He should be in a sideshow for it.
It's 24 degrees and I get to walk to work in it, and it's getting colder every day. Maybe I'll slip on some ice and live. Hallelujah, it's raining ass.
