Well, this has been fun. So after getting sick at the beginning of the week, something which seemed like a head-cold turned to dizziness mid-week, which had me assuming sinus infection. I went to a doctor and they started using words like 'arhythmia', which I assume has nothing to do with my ability to dance. It was weird that they noticed my heartbeat was off, but said nothing about the fact that I was congested until I re-mentioned it, and then they kinda said "oh yeah" and tacked on an antibiotics prescription.
So now I'm taking antibiotics, "anti-vert" and something to tell my heart to chill.
What's great is that my usual level of misstatements and misunderstandings has effectively tripled in the meantime. I've also missed half the social things I wanted to do this week, and there were about 8 messages on my phone I've not returned.
For what it's worth, I spent the evening following that doctor's appointment freaking the fk out. I hadn't noticed any sort of heart-irregularity until they pointed it out, and then I couldn't not feel it. I do feel more normal today, but I'm looking forward to the dizziness and nausea that I'll get from the pills I just took in order to battle my pre-existing dizziness and nausea.
The Greek has done her usual, exemplary job of taking care of me and dealing with my whining.

Date: 2005-08-14 07:50 pm (UTC)Any clarifications as to which kind? I mean are we talking a few PVC's?
http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=11
Because two or three Red Bulls will do that to anyone?
or Afib?

or what?!?!?!?
Good grief! You just don't say that kind of thing to someone and hand them pills!!!
Which meds?
Beta blockers?
Cause that will drop your blood pressure to nil if you aren't careful.
I hope you get to feeling better.

Date: 2005-08-15 03:30 pm (UTC)Here...this may help you to know what something looks like...
This is a PVC, ventricle contracts too early.
It will feel like a beat snuck up on you too fast.
Compared to NSR...normal sinus rhythm...
or PAC...coming from atria....
That one doesn't look to off from normal, it is just missing a wave.
I cannot believe they didn't tell you shit.
Hell come over let me listen, I bet I could tell you what it is ....
And Atenolol is a beta blocker....keep an eye on feeling light headed, remember what I said about the blood pressure thing.

If you want anymore info, you know I am a plethora of medical knowledge, and would be glad to help you. :)

Date: 2005-08-16 01:43 am (UTC)That is actually pretty common.
The thing will be is it every other beat, or once in 488 beats.
HUGE difference.
Like I said caffeine will give ANYONE PVC's, stimulants, etc.
I wouldn't sweat this toooo much, (which is easier said), unless they become symptomatic.
And be sure, speaking of, a doc doesn't just throw meds at you, without a proper evaluation from a cardiologist, to see where and why, not just treat the symptoms.
yo.
